Your Botswana Safari
O Bona Moremi offers perfect conditions for a variety of unique Botswana safari experiences. Take place on our open Safari vehicles and get introduced to the stunning nature by our local guides in Khwai, Savuti and Moremi Game Reserve. Change your perspective and dive into the calm nature of the Okavango Delta by exploring the flora and fauna up close and personal with traditional dugout canoes called Mokoros. Take a guided Safari walk through the wild nature of the Okavango Delta with our experienced guides and breath in the smell of the African Bush. If that is not enough for you hop on to a night Safari and observe rare nocturnal animals in their natural environment!

On Safari in the Okavango Delta
Our Game Drives and activities are set in the core boundary zone of the legendary Okavango Delta and guests of O Bona Moremi are able to observe a vast majority of Africas big Game including all of the Big 5, Hippos, Zebra, Giraffe, various antelope species and many more. All our Safaris start in the early mornings and evenings dependent on the sunrise and sunset as animals are most active when the temperatures are still low.
In the colder month we provide guests with blankets and hot tea and coffee as our safari vehicles are open offering a perfect panorama view. As soon as the sun has risen or is about to set our guides usually take a brake with you in order to see Africas breathtaking colors. Refreshments, Tea, Coffee and alcoholic “Sundowner” drinks are inclusive on all our Safaris. Hop off the vehicle and observe grazing antelopes and elephants on the vast floodplains of Khwai while having a break from your safari drive. If you still haven’t got enough you can go on a night safari as O Bona Moremi is one of the few lodges where night safaris are operated. Guests have the chance to observe shy nocturnal animals or big cats on the hunt!

Guided Walking and Mokoro Safari
If you want to see the nature of the Okavango Delta from a whole new perspective then a guided Walking Safari or Mokoro tour might be just right for you. Our boat tours are operated with traditional dugout canoes called “Mokoros”. Our experienced guides give you an intense experience as they will teach you about the local flora of the Okavango Delta, its medical use, animal tracking, movement and behavior. How to distinguish leopard and lion tracks and why water lilies are a delicacy are a only a few questions that will be answered on a walking safari or Mokoro tour.
Seeing the animals and nature of the Okavango Delta on foot or on water can be a stunning and new experience. The local poler give you a deep insight into the flora and fauna of the water world while the Mokoro is gliding through the tributaries of the Khwai River.
